We work with Present Hope Ministry, who started their ministry in Haiti many years ago. Together, we help support four schools in the poorest parts of Ouanaminthe, with a large new school campus in the works. Our goal is to give the children literacy, health, dignity and the knowledge that they are unconditionally loved.
We are a small grass roots organization that has been on the ground in Haiti doing the work since day one, for almost a decade.
There is no middle man, no government involvement, no administration costs. B the Hope for Haiti pays all its own expenses so that 100 percent of your donations go to the children of Haiti.
Haiti is the poorest nation in the western hemisphere where the average daily salary is $2.00. It ranks in the top 10 countries in the world for corruption and malnutrition. Only 50 percent of children go to school and most schools are run by big non governmental organizations (NGO) or smaller organizations like B the Hope for Haiti.
Joanna is the founder and director of B the Hope for Haiti. She was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario and currently resides in Burlington, Ontario. She is a devoted wife, mother to four daughters and a grandmother to four grandchildren. Joanna was educated as a teacher and early in her career chose to channel her passion for children by caring for the most vulnerable in our child welfare system. She worked for the Toronto Catholic Children’s Aid Society for twenty years dedicating her days as a treatment home for drug and alcohol effected newborns. Joanna spent several years doing humanitarian work in other countries, but it was her first visit to Haiti which illuminated her passion and she established the organization, B the Hope for Haiti.
